Hey now, I'm louder than the rain now
as it slams the sodden grass I let my old wounds open
and I'm gushing
Out now, thirsty in a drought now
and all the desert's limestone layers
once took time I must be sinking
Down now, knees and chest and mouth now
but I will keep my eyes above the ground as witness
if I can't cry out
